I’m not really much of a new year’s resolution person but boy if I were…!!!! What I do instead is so much more fun. I pick a word or phrase to represent my upcoming year. It’s something that guides me through the year with a single intention instead of trying to accomplish a million little things and getting overwhelmed and frustrated.
Mine this year is inspirational but perhaps, unconventional. It’s kind of the opposite of Sebastian Maniscalco’s whole “aren’t you embarrassed?” bit - which is hilarious, don’t get me wrong. But no Sebastian, I am not embarrassed because WHO CARES. And that is my 2025 phrase. Who cares!?
No one is thinking about you as much as you think they are. If they are thinking about you or judging you, it’s only a reflection of themselves. Nothing is personal. Everyone is living their own movie as the main character and they are caught up in it - you might as well be an NPC. So don’t overthink it and remember that you have free will!
Time to put it to use - wear a weirdo outfit that you love, use the machine at the gym that you have no idea how to work, start your passion project, make art for fun, sell feet pics(?), manspread wherever you can, sing in public, laugh at yourself if you wipe out on black ice in your driveway after your parents spent 20 minutes warning you about it (speaking from experience)…..WHO CARES!? I don’t. It liberates you from comparison and reveals aspects of yourself that you may be keeping hidden for whatever reason you made up in your mind. It also makes everything funny because life is not that serious (coming full circle in 2025). So if you see me on the street doing something weird, just know I literally don’t care!! Or have me arrested!
Talkin Blood
Was that inspiring? Who cares. Anyway, something I actually do care about is understanding the female body and learning to embrace it’s natural cycles in order to live a more aligned, fulfilled, and abundant life. As women, we’re barely taught anything about our own bodies - the only things I ever learned were that periods are taboo and if you have PMS or literally any other symptom, just get on the pill.
What they don’t tell you is that there is so much power and wisdom in living in sync with your cycle and actually honoring your body’s natural phases. If you have been ignoring your body’s signals for years and just powering through all the time (like hustle culture will have you do) you may be feeling stressed, anxious, burnt out, disconnected from yourself, unhealthy, fatigued, and just dull. We don’t want that in 2025!!! It’s time to lean into your feminine energy, which is all about receiving (pause), flowing, listening, intuiting, and finding strength and power in that.
Living this way not only makes us feel amazing but also challenges societal norms (not our intention but always a plus considering our Aquarius placements). We love learning, researching, and trying holistic wellness tips (ranging from skincare, food, exercise, etc). We’ll be sharing those that we deem worthy. The amount of information out there can get overwhelming, so our intention is for this to be a fun and easy way to make lifestyle changes.
Minimalist Glow Up
I stopped washing my face. If you just fell to the ground, please get up. Instead I dry brush my face 2-3 times a week and then apply a gentle moisturizer or natural oil. Every other day, I use a cotton round with a touch of almond oil to wipe my skin post shower or anytime I’m taking off makeup. I was inspired by my boyfriend (shocking!) who has amazing skin and not a clue what face wash is.
Washing your face constantly strips it of natural oils and disrupts the skin barrier, causing your body to overcompensate, leading to breakouts and dull skin. Then, you fall into a vicious skincare cycle of adding more and more products to replenish all the natural oils you strip each time. Skincare stress is so real. Since I stopped using an insane amount of skincare products and washing my face, my skin has never looked better, forrealforreal. Another major factor in my clear skin is eating according to my cycle…

Day 1: Spicy Miso Ramen
Welcome to Day 1 of your cycle (the start of your period aka the menstrual phase). In the menstrual phase, the hormones estrogen & progesterone are at their lowest which leads to lower energy. That’s why this recipe is a One Pot Spicy Miso Ramen. It’s packed with iron-rich bok choy, warming ginger, and gut-friendly miso to support digestion & soothe cramps. Tofu adds a good source of plant-based protein and the warm, mushroom-based broth helps replenish mineral levels.
It’s only 10 ingredients and takes 15 minutes to make. Minimal prep, cook time, and clean up. It’s the perfect dish to make to keep you warm and cozy while maximizing couch time. Slurp up!
Spicy Miso Ramen
serves 2-3
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 inch ginger, grated
2 stalks scallions, white and green part separated
32 fl oz vegan no beef broth or vegetable broth
1-2 teaspoons sambal oelek chili paste
1/2 block firm tofu (soft works too), cubed
1 baby bok choy, separate and trim the ends of the leaves
1/4 cup white miso paste
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon tahini
2 servings ramen noodles
Method:
Cook the aromatics: In a pot over medium heat, heat the oil. Once shimmering, reduce heat to medium-low and add the garlic, ginger, and white parts of scallions. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Cook the tofu and bok choy in broth: Add broth and chili paste, bringing to a boil. Then add the tofu and bok choy and simmer until bok choy turns bright green and tender, about 5 minutes.
Cook noodles directly in broth or separately according to the package: Just before the bok choy is cooked, add the ramen noodles to the broth. Follow package instructions. If you’re cooking them separately, do that now.
Stir in the miso and tahini: Remove pot from heat. In a small bowl, whisk miso paste with 1/4 water until smooth, then stir into the pot along with tahini. Serve over cooked ramen noodles and garnish with the green parts of scallions.
Need to make this but realized I don't have chili paste. Who cares!?!?
